PowerOLAP and Microsoft Analysis Services®

PowerOLAP connects directly to Microsoft’s Analysis Services cubes for optimized Planning and Analysis.

Microsoft Analysis Services builds Business Intelligence OLAP cubes from (multiple) user data sources. These cubes can be accessed by Excel or other 3rd party clients to create BI reports and dashboards for end users.

PowerOLAP can link to or import these Analysis Services OLAP cubes and add more value, intelligence, and power to them. This enables users of Microsoft SQL Server to take advantage of PowerOLAP’s flexibility and speed for improved Business reports and dashboards. For example, new dimensions can be added, or the existing dimensions can be simplified. New business rules can be added to the data for better analytics, and Excel and other 3rd party clients such as Google and Cubeware can access the PowerOLAP cubes as well.

In Version 8, enhancements have been added to the PowerOLAP Services feature that makes the integration with Analysis Services more flexible and more powerful; PowerOLAP now supports Analysis Services 2000 and 2005.
