The PowerOLAP Server application employs a centralized server for maximum, efficient workgroup sharing of large models.
By sitting sharable multidimensional databases on the server, organizations leverage their server capabilities, keeping the requirements on RAM centrally located, rather than dispersed among individual applications. Clients access multidimensional databases to work quickly and share their results as a group--with other PowerOLAP clients around the world or in the office next door.
The PowerOLAP MDB (Multidimensional Database) Server also centralizes security implementation, with the Server Administrator. Depending on Administrator-assigned privileges, clients are able to model meta-data, enter fact data or "read only" ranges of cells in specific models (the Administrator can limit client privileges down to the single-cell level). The MDB Server application, therefore, satisfies the most stringent MIS requirements for data security. And, because users work together from the same, most current data sets, organizations avoid the dangerous inconsistencies associated with data replication.
The PowerOLAP MDB Server application can be implemented with full OLAP Exchange and Synchronization Server capabilities. The MDB Server represents the fastest, most efficient, most advanced OLAP application for multidimensional planning, analysis and reporting capabilities across the enterprise.
A dedicated workstation running Windows 2000/XP/2003 Server.
